Control
Control is the operator face of the show graph: Action Deck pages, Stream Deck layouts, and Audio (Library, Cartwall, SFX Generation, Spatial Layouts) for SFX, beds, and spatial speakers.
Action Deck
Action Deck is a tile surface for GO, STOP, cartwall page openers, voice, AI, OSC, HTTP, and whatever else you bind. It is the same graph as Overview and Automation — not a separate toy mode.
On a fresh Default show the deck may be empty — that is normal. Build page 1 yourself, or load Blue Lamp — Theater Show only if a show/sample list lists it.
Build a button (Community Free 1.0.190)
Exact chrome on 1.0.190:
- Open Control → Action Deck. Create or name a deck if needed.
- Click an empty cell.
- In the inspector, click Add button (not “Add tile”).
- Set the Label field.
- Scroll to Actions → event tab Press → Add action.
A useful first page:
- GO / STOP — primary take and halt (Style: GO amber, STOP red). Press can be any catalog command — a no-op is fine for the first prove-out.
- Cartwall openers — Add action → Navigate pages → Go to dynamic page… (cartwall, timecode, plugins) → pick the cartwall page. Create cartwall pages before wiring navigate actions.
- Voice / AI — intercom and assistants (optional; later page until trusted). For Voice LLM: bind the intercom / Voice LLM listen action after enabling Voice LLM under AI → Assistant and/or I/O → Add Endpoint → Voice LLM (
voice-llm). - OSC / HTTP — external fire paths (optional)
Blue Lamp — Theater Show is the sample layout for Getting Started when built or when that show is present at Blue Lamp Theater — not a guaranteed Community Free preload. In that sample, cartwall pages are named House and Bits. Walkthrough: Getting Started · 03 Action Deck.
Operator tips
- Keep page 1 sparse: GO, STOP, cartwall openers, maybe voice later.
- Park experimental AI / Plugin Builder tiles on a later page until you trust them.
- Prefer one obvious GO — do not duplicate amber GO semantics across brand chrome (GO stays a deck key, not a logo color).
Stream Deck
Physical Stream Deck layouts mirror Action Deck pages. Same cues, tactile surface. Pair the deck in I/O, then edit pages under Control. A hardware layout exists only if you create or pair it — do not expect it on every fresh install.
Audio · Library, Cartwall, SFX Generation, Spatial Layouts
Under Control → Audio, these are sibling tabs — Cartwall is not nested under Library; Spatial Layouts is not a separate Spatial top-nav.
Library → Upload
Fresh Community 1.0.190 starts with an empty audio library — no preloaded stings.
- Open Control → Audio → Library.
- Empty state reads: “No clips in this category. Use Upload to add audio files.”
- Click primary Upload → modal Upload audio.
- Drop zone: “Click here to select file or drag files into this area to upload” (mp3 / wav / zip).
- Upload at least one short file before any cartwall Play an audio file picker has something to choose.
Do not use Cloud SFX Add to Library for first-timer upload. Optional live CDN samples: sample-sting-a.wav / sample-sting-b.wav. Overview card: Import audio & play an SFX.
Cartwall SFX
- Open Control → Audio → Cartwall.
- Create pages (sample names when walking Blue Lamp Theater: House, Bits, optionally Transitions / Alerts).
- Add a tile → wire Play an audio file → pick the Library clip you uploaded.
- Route playback toward a network audio device when the room sink is on the network (AES67, ST2110, Sonos, garden speaker, console·Q-SYS, etc.). Guided path: Getting Started · 04.
Skip if you don’t need local audio. If fire says no device, you’re not broken — continue with No sound card — how do cartwall SFX reach a network audio device? or confirm endpoints under I/O → Devices / Integrations. See also Troubleshooting.
SFX Generation (ElevenLabs)
After I/O → Add Endpoint → ElevenLabs (API key):
- Open Control → Audio → SFX Generation (this is not Cloud SFX).
- Generate, then send the clip to Library and/or Add to Cartwall.

Spatial Layouts
Open Control → Audio → Spatial Layouts (tab id layouts) — optional after 04.
- Canvas: Add Speaker, Add Spatial Zone
- Speaker inspector: Name, X, Y; Audio Output dialog = sink picker (Select output…)
- Spatial Zone inspector: Name / drag; section DMX Position Control → Enable DMX Control, Source Universe, X Ch / Y Ch (1–512), Save DMX Config
- Runtime:
DmxSpatialBridgemaps DMX → zone X/Y + SignalR - No dedicated spatial OSC panel and no invented bed OSC address — use DMX, script, or OSC → show commands
