Getting Started
A calm path from download to a working show. Fresh Community loads Default at http://localhost:7474. Along the way you can build GO / STOP plus cartwall pages House and Bits on Default — or follow the concrete Blue Lamp Theater examples below when a sample helps.
You can stop after step 04 once cartwall SFX reach a network audio device. Steps 05 and 06 are optional deeper topics.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| 01 · Install → open UI | Install Community Free and open http://localhost:7474 |
| 02 · I/O connect | Confirm the browser path; optionally add OSC, HTTP, or lights |
| 03 · Action Deck | Build or load GO / STOP and open House / Bits |
| 04 · Cartwall SFX → network audio | Fire SFX into a network audio device — a solid place to pause |
| 05 · Spatial | Optional — move the bed across speakers with DMX / script / OSC |
| 06 · AI + Plugin Builder | Optional — voice, SFX generation, MCP, and Plugin Builder |
Before you start
- Grab Community Free 1.0.190 from Download — Windows Setup/MSI, macOS
.dmg, or Linux tarball (./BPShowServer), then open http://localhost:7474. - Reference when you need it: Overview, I/O, Control.
- Thin refs: Troubleshooting · API / MCP overview · AI.
Sample venue (docs only)
When a concrete walkthrough helps, examples use Blue Lamp Theater as the venue and Blue Lamp — Theater Show as the show. That is sample fiction for Getting Started — not the assumed default on a fresh install (which loads Default).
Lighting note
Twinkly and WLED appear in step 02 as realtime RGB(W) endpoints — always named together. Details: Holiday lighting I/O.
